Transits and Progressions – Prediction with Participation
Through these two processes, described on the previous page, we each receive the invitation to “follow the energies” in the name of personal and soulful change. But following these planetary energies is really a way to talk about following our own energy--the unfolding nature and reality of our lives.
Rather than using a purely predictive approach to what is happening in your life, my transit and progressions readings describe the nature of the energies available, and how to maximize them. This is offered in the context of your own birth chart--what is in keeping with your essential nature. I will also speak of the potential pitfalls involved with these processes, and what could keep you from making the most of the energies.
For example, rather than communicating that “your relationship will likely be ending,” I would describe the nature of the process(es) you are going through with relationship, the spectrum of choices you have, and which are likely to serve you best. But most importantly, I would talk about what this passage is for with regard to you and your path of relationship—what you have to gain from it that will serve you for the rest of your life.
I don’t believe that any outcomes are set in stone. Therefore, my approach to transits and progressions is to involve you, and the power of conscious choice, in the process. Three people can go through the same transit, experiencing similar situations, pressures, or opportunities, but respond differently--depending on their essential nature and level of maturity--and get three different outcomes.
My part is to communicate the nature and duration of the situation and offer a spectrum of choices, suggesting those which best suit and serve at this time in your life. Your part is to use that information, combined with your intuition and inner direction, to make those choices.
There is another element of transit and progression work that goes beyond conscious choice—and I attempt to keep my heart attuned to that as well. In the deeper, soul-making processes of life, conscious choice is an integral part of a larger reality, and that larger reality must be trusted as well. Spirit sometimes works and moves in ways we don’t like or understand—though we may come to be grateful for them in time. Learning to trust that larger Process is part of my own inner work, and also part of what I support in my clients as they seek to becoming more conscious and whole.
